Our theme is Illumination. Join us in lighting the way for a transformative gathering of creativity, community, and Jewish spirit. Shir Chadash! is a retreat that gathers together “Sparks”— made up of clergy, musicians, artists, seekers, and lovers of Jewish music and arts—for a gathering filled with singing, learning, rejuvenation, and spiritual growth.
This experience will kindle inspiration and renew passion in Jewish life and leadership. Through songleading and songwriting, creative writing and storytelling, scribal arts, dance, yoga, and sacred rhythm, participants will leave with tangible skills—and a burning fire to share in their communities.
We invite you to share your own light – as participants in the retreat, and in helping to support our Illumin8tion team in presenting Shir Chadash! 2026, and our ongoing work. We are seeking Light Bearers—individuals and organizations whose generosity enables this sacred work to shine. The Jewish world needs spaces like this—where spirit, creativity, and community intertwine.

Zakir Hussein Memorial Scholarship
The rhythm of our hearts
Ustad Zakir Hussain Allarakha Qureshi was the world’s foremost tabla master and one of the greatest percussionists of all time. His artistry bridged cultures and revealed the divine in rhythm. This scholarship honors his brilliance by enabling others to find their own beat within the Shir Chadash community.
